Our Academy Story
Leongolden Gracie was founded on a vision, to bring something to Volusia County that had never truly existed before: a high-level Jiu Jitsu academy that blended elegance with the art of self-defense. For years, our community lacked a world class training center that could serve both athletes and everyday people who wanted more than just another gym experience.
With the support of the local community, we connected with multiple high degree black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, each bringing their knowledge, experience, and passion for the art. Together, we began building what would become a premier academy in Ormond Beach, designed to serve everyone; from law enforcement officers and lifeguards seeking to sharpen their skills, to men and women training for competition, to those simply looking to learn practical self-defense in a safe and welcoming environment.
But we didn’t stop at Jiu Jitsu alone. We understood that greatness requires recovery, so we equipped our academy with world class wellness facilities, including a cryotherapy chamber and a sauna, to help our athletes and members regenerate fully, both physically and mentally. In addition, we will also offer yoga and stretch classes to complement training and promote long-term health, mobility, and recovery.
A vital part of our mission is to inspire the next generation. We believe that every child in our community deserves the chance to build confidence, discipline, and resilience through martial arts. At Leongolden Gracie, we strive to help kids become the best version of themselves, no matter their age or starting point. By instilling values of respect, perseverance, and self belief, we aim to guide them both on and off the mats, shaping not only strong athletes but strong individuals.
At Leongolden Gracie, we made a decision early on: we didn’t want to be just another academy. We wanted to be the best academy, a place that represents excellence, discipline, and community. More than a training center, we are a hub for growth, resilience, and connection.
Our mission is clear: to showcase to the world the strength, skill, and spirit that Ormond Beach and Volusia County have to offer. Through Jiu Jitsu, wellness, recovery, and youth development, we aim to give back to the community that built us and inspire the next generation of martial artists and leaders.
